The Oakville Irish Dance Association also referred to as the OIDA, is the parent volunteer association for the Goggin-Carroll School of Irish Dance located in Oakville Ontario, Canada.  The primary objective of the OIDA is to enhance the community experience for every member of the Goggin-Carroll School of Irish Dance.  Every adult member of GC dance families who have paid their annual family membership fee and in good standing are members of the OIDA and can participate in all OIDA activities throughout the season.  The governing body of the OIDA is know as the OIDA executive and is elected to the positions by the OIDA members at the annual general meeting, usually held in January.

OIDA Events may include  but not limited to, the GC School Feis and Ceilidh, Summer BBQ, Waterpark day, Christmas party, Pub nights and Bus trips to out of town competitions known as feises.  The OIDA also oversees the Claddagh Ball Parent Working Group, the school's World Championship fundraiser.

It needs to be stressed that the OIDA Executive and all of the OIDA sponsored events are made possible by the GC parent volunteers and as such, none of the events can happen without volunteers.   If you are a OIDA member and wish to participate in the OIDA executive or help out with an event, please express your interest to the Executive Chairperson or any other member of the OIDA executive.  It is the parent volunteers that make the difference for our dancers, by providing  a fun, safe and confidence building childhood, and memories that will last a lifetime.
